PROVINCIA'S NEW CANDLE COLLECTION ARRIVES IN STORE

On October 18th, the renowned candle maker “Provincia” unveiled its new avant-garde collection “Legs on a Plate.”

Inspired by the recent public debate about a controversial story that raises complex moral questions, Provincia's designer Nerija decided to use her work to highlight the complex relationship between comfort, consumption and conscience.
The idea came after a well-known public figure shared his experience of eating dog meat – in the 21st century, when we have so many different food choices and dogs are kept at home as family members.

Another source of inspiration was a Korean film about a chef who serves the elite and is famous not for his culinary skills but for his extravagant and cruel performances.
Especially one of episode in particular when a wealthy customer asked the chef to serve him a very rare, state-protected bird, revealed that man had strayed too far from the original moral order because the luxury of being able to easily acquire everything had lost its limits, overshadowed morality and gradually even life itself had become part of humans excessive consumption.

The "Legs on a Plate" collection is not about giving up everything because that would be another extreme, but about the importance of moderation and respect.

When talking about the collection, Nerija recalled a story told by a colleague about a five-year-old award-winning horse that suffered a leg injury, after which it could no longer compete professionally and was euthanized for this reason. "Stories like this make you want to react and encourage people to always consider whether your own needs and desires will mean the end of another life." - said Nerija.

PETRAS SIMONIS AND PAULIUS ZABORSKIS HAVE AGREED TO SERVE AS THE PRINCIPAL FACES OF THE "LEGS ON A PLATE" COLLECTION

On September 20th the filming and photoshoot for the "Legs on a Plate" collection took place at the Jakiškiai Manor with well-known actor Petras Simonis and fashion photographer Paulius Zaborskis as the main faces.

The famous actor Petras Simonis with fashion photographer Paulius Zaborskis agreed to embody the idea of the “Legs on the Plate” collection and together with Provincia remind the world about luxury, which can gradually lose all boundaries and increasingly overwhelm conscience and morality if it is used wrongly and without restraint.
A team of professionals contributed to the realization of the collection – videographer Gytis Poska and photographer Kristina Cereskiene who together created a visual narrative subtly revealing the theme of the collection.

The synergy of artists, stylists and the creative team helped convey Nerija’s vision in which fashion becomes not only a means of aesthetics but also of ethical reflection, encouraging the viewer to contemplate consumption, comfort, and responsibility for life.
